Saturday's boys soccer results: Nate Miller, Nick Linaburg lead CVCA over Aurora

  • CVCA 5, Aurora 2: Nate Miller and Nick Linaburg each scored two goals to lead the Royals past Aurora. Aiden Garciamendoza accounted for CVCA's fifth score.
  • Lake Center Christian 2, Canton Central Catholic 0: The Tigers opened the season with a shutout over the visiting Crusaders (0-1). Seniors Caleb Patrick and Drew Guiser scored for Lake Center.

Friday's boys soccer results: Hudson opens season with 4-1 win

  • Hudson 4, Kent Roosevelt 1: Everett Hedges had a hat trick and Hudson scored twice in each half to open the season with a win at Kent Roosevelt. Brady Stickler assisted on two of Hedges scores. Hedges had one unassisted score. Stickler scored Hudson's third goal on an assist by Tyler Piroli.
  • Green 5, Archbishop Hoban 2: With 10 shots on goal, half of the Bulldogs shot connected for scores to open the season with a home win.
  • Copley 2, Streetsboro 2: Logan Sadowski scored two second-half goals to pull the Rockets even with Copley for a 2-2 tie to open the season.
  • Wadsworth 5, Norton 1: Mason Hiltner scored two unassisted second-half goals for the visiting Grizzlies. Benny Sauser, Jakoby Currens and Anthony Pardo scored first-half goals for Wadsworth.

Friday's boys golf results: Manchester wins match over Triway and Canton South

  • Manchester 152, Triway 156, Canton South 201: Medalist Chase Zavodney was one of three Panthers to break 40 and help keep Manchester (4-0) unbeaten with a win at Spring Hills. Mason Walmer and Trent Zuchowski each carded 38s for the Panthers.

Friday's girls golf results: Revere and Hudson claim Suburban tourney crowns

  • Suburban League Girls Golf Tournament: Stow's Fox Den Golf Course hosted the second Suburban League girls golf tournament of the season. Revere won the American Conference title and Hudson claimed the National. Revere's Sarah Riley shot a 3-over 74 to win medalist honors for the American Conference. Aurora's Kelly MacSurack shot a 78 for the runner-up spot. Hudson's Elena Varga (73) and Rachel Rush (75) were the top two finishers in the National Conference as the Explorers ran away from the field with a 315 — 36 strokes ahead of runner-up North Royalton.

Thursday's golf results: Green sweeps Woodridge

  • Green 5, Woodridge 0: Chloe Hiem won a tiebreaker at No. 1 singles in Green's nonleague win.
  • Archbishop Hoban 3, Norton 2: The Knights opened their season with a win at Norton (0-1), sweeping both doubles matches.
