The cozy fantasy book offers a wonderfully fairy-tale-like atmosphere with southern charm and a sweet story. Honey the Farewitch was warm and stubborn, and the modern setting with Wi-Fi and microwaves mixed well with the magical recipes.

A Witch In Notting Hill

By Alexandra Paige

Once again bringing the aesthetic of the modern world while telling a story of a witch dealing with magical mishaps, A Witch in Notting Hill is a cozy romance perfect for the season.

Hollywood actress and witch Willow James accidentally turned her manager into a cat when she only wanted to get out of her contract. In order to fix the mistake, she travels to London to visit an occult bookstore in the hopes of finding a spell to undo it. The owner of the store is, of course, a handsome man who somehow is incredibly skeptical of magic, despite running an occult bookstore.

As the name suggests, A Witch in Notting Hill includes Disenchanted

By Lucy Jane Wood

Like the characters in Practical Magic 2 who try to swear off magic, the main character in Disenchanted, Sage Hemlock, is trying to hide her powers and run from her past. Of course, similar to the movie, Sage mistakenly has magical chaos that spills into her everyday world after a mysterious book triggers a curse. In order to save everyone she holds dear, she must confront her magic and solve the mysteries of this strange book.

Despite being the third in a series, Disenchanted can be read as a standalone book that simply takes place in the same world as the previous two.

With All My Haunted Heart

In the sapphic romance, With All My Haunted Heart, a witch named Pippa is hired by a local bed & breakfast, although the two co-owners of the inn seem to have different ideas of what this little witch should do for them.

Initially hired to inspect for ghosts, the beautiful co-owner Elle decides it would be better for business if Pippa helps to haunt the B&B instead. This leads to some pretty experimental magic for Pippa, but her growing feelings for Elle make her even more determined to make it work.

The magic in this book and the ghostly hauntings is a creative take on a rom-com situation, although there are also some heavy themes of grief.

Practically Magic

By Jen Calonita

Besides the obvious similarities in its name to the movie Practical Magic, the book Practically Magic by Jen Calonita draws quite a bit of inspiration from it. The book tells the story of the magical Hadley sisters of Mystic Hollow, who come from several generations of witches.

Younger sister, Kat, was confused why she could never get any boy to be interested in her, until she finds out that her older sister, Harriet, had cursed her in an effort to protect her from suffering heartbreak. Kat's anger and the fight that follows leads to not only a sisterly tiff, but a reversal of every magic spell any Hadley witch has ever cast.

Spells that were meant to do good are suddenly starting to turn evil, and the balance of magic overall is threatening the entire land. Of course, that also means that suddenly Kat may have more male attention than ever.

The Witches Of Cambridge

As stated at the beginning of this article, Alice Hoffman is the Witches Of Honeysuckle House

By Liz Parker

Like the unfortunate and deadly curse plaguing the witches in Practical Magic 2, the protagonists in Witches of Honeysuckle House are facing a similar situation. Every 13 years someone close to the family is killed by a curse, and two sisters must work together to break the spell.

After their mother's death thirteen years ago, sisters Florence and Evie Caldwell disagreed over how to break the curse on their family. Evie has transformed the family estate, Honeysuckle House, into an enchanted bed and breakfast, with Florence running a magical bookstore nearby. The house itself starts to act up, even catching fire, and Florence and Evie are forced to work together to unravel the curse before someone they love dies.

The book jumps between timelines showing different sets of sisters in the Caldwell family, including Violet from 1960 and her forbidden love interest, Tillie. The book is much darker than it seems at first glance, but its magic systems and depth of story make it a must read for any fan of Practical Magic 2.
