7 Titans with most to gain in joint practice with Seahawks

Still feeling the after-effects of their 19-13 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in the preseason opener, the Tennessee Titans will have a chance to turn the page when they host the Seattle Seahawks in a joint practice on Friday. Tennessee has a lot to work on, but should have plenty of chances to correct what plagued them during the game. This will also be a chance for some players to build upon their performance against the 49ers as the roster battles heat up.

Here’s a look at seven players with the most to gain from this joint practice. G Fernando Carmona Carmona has been surging and has the inside track to the starting right guard position, and can help solidify that with a strong outing against a stout Seahawks defensive line. If Carmona can hold up and eventually win the job outright, the Titans will be in a great position. S Erick Hallett Hallett has been coming on strong and has clearly worked himself into the conversation to be one of the depth pieces in the Titans’ secondary.

The Seahawks have an outstanding passing attack, and this will be a solid test for the young safety. G/C Jackson Slater Slater is getting reps all along the interior of the offensive line, and that versatility will likely be his ticket to the roster. If Slater can prove he can be a solid backup along all three interior spots, his abilities could free up a roster spot at another position. TE Kylen Granson With rookie tight end Jaren Kanak on injured reserve, Granson is battling David Martin-Robinson for the third tight end spot.

At the moment, Martin-Robinson appears to have the inside track, but Granson can make his case with a strong outing against Seattle. WR Xavier Restrepo If Restrepo wants a chance to make the roster, it is now or never, and he must find a way to make an impact on special teams. An outstanding slot option, the Titans' deep receiving corps makes it an uphill battle to make the roster without special-teams ability. LB Dorian Mausi Mausi had a rough game against the 49ers both on defense and on special teams, and must bounce back with a solid performance against Seattle.

The Titans have limited space at the position, and another uneven performance could seriously hurt his chances. DE Malik Herring Herring had an outstanding outing against the 49ers and has put himself in a position to take advantage of the injury to Jaylen Harrell, who will miss all of 2026 with a torn ACL. With Keldric Faulk a question mark headed into the practice with a shoulder injury, Herring could see some increased reps and be prepared to take full advantage of it.
