Corporation Commissioner Gaurav Kumar said 60 conservancy workers had been assigned exclusively to clean the temple surroundings.
To oversee the work, 24 Sanitary Inspectors had been given additional monitoring duties, including supervising 100 mobile toilets in addition to the 24 permanent toilets already existing in the area.
Each facility would have a dedicated attendant to clean it immediately after use and keep the restrooms comfortable for the public, he added.
For health and safety, 27 medical camps staffed with doctors and nurses would be set up across the temple region.
“The emergency response fleet will include 10 ‘108’ ambulances, two two-wheeler ambulances and eight mobile medical units,” Mr. Kumar said.
Further, 14 specialised medical teams would be stationed during the ceremony — seven on the roof near the puja area and seven on the ground level.
Mr. Kumar added that green corridors had also been established to ensure swift emergency transit and advanced life support for devotees who might fall ill.
One vehicle would be deployed for mosquito fogging operations and another would be used to remove accumulated sand and debris from the areas surrounding the temple.
The Corporation and temple administration currently possess a total of 360 wireless devices, comprising SIM-card-operated and high-frequency wireless devices. In the event of telecommunication network disruptions caused by heavy crowds, these devices would be provided to officials on duty to manage communications effectively, he said.
Moreover, notices had been served to owners of houses located in the Chithirai Street and Avani Moola Street areas, instructing them not to allow outsiders or unfamiliar persons into their houses on the day of the consecration to prevent crowd congestion.
Dilapidated and old houses in these areas had also been identified, and their owners had been informed to ensure that no outsiders entered them on that day. The police department had also been informed.
To facilitate vehicle parking, Mr. Kumar said, “Permissions are being obtained with the assistance of the police department to park vehicles at the parking lot near the Periyar Bus Stand and on vacant lands owned by private entities, and related works are under way.”
